Orbit Hop

A little comet circles a planet. Let go at the perfect moment and hop ever higher!

▶ Play

A one-button physics skill game that is easy to start and hard to master. Your comet circles a planet; the instant you let go, it flies off in a straight line along the orbit, and it must sail into the orbit ring of another planet above to be caught.

The higher you go, the smaller and faster the planets get, their spin flips between clockwise and counter-clockwise, and some planets drift from side to side. The view also climbs slowly on its own, so waiting too long lets the glowing "star tide" catch up.

Flying close to a planet's centre is a "Perfect", and a Perfect streak is worth more and more. Skipping a planet or grabbing stardust on the way scores extra. Every 12 planets you reach a new, differently coloured sky.

How to play

  1. Tap "Play". Your comet starts circling the first planet.
  2. Tap the screen and the comet flies straight off in the direction it is moving. For the first few hops a dotted line previews the path and changes colour when you are on target.
  3. Fly into the dashed ring around a planet above to be caught, then circle that planet. The little arrows on a ring show which way it spins.
  4. Aim for the middle: a run of "Perfects" stacks bonus points. Stardust on the way is +1, and skipping a planet is +2.
  5. The run ends if you fly off the screen, or wait so long that the glowing star tide at the bottom catches you. Tap "Retry" to go again straight away and beat your best.
